The Elements · I of IV
Earth
The ground beneath. Support before effort, and the stillness that lets holding drop.
Earth is the first thing a body asks for: something solid underneath it. The floor, the ground, the honest weight of you meeting gravity. Before a practice asks the body to do anything, it asks the body to be held.
Weight settling into support is often the first thing to notice. When the feet, pelvis, and breath find where they rest, the effort of holding drops, and rest becomes possible.
